Box Parish Neighbourhood Plan

What has happened?

The Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group (NPSG) is now working with consultants,  Place Studio, to take the Plan through to completion.

We are focusing on Sustainability and Climate Change, Community Facilities, Employment and Economy, Footpaths and Cycle ways, Local Green Spaces, Local Heritage Assets and Design and Character. A member of the NPSG has volunteered to lead on each of these areas, if you would like to become involved in supporting the evidence gathering for any of the above areas, please contact us.

Community Evidence Day 4 March 2023

A big thank you to everyone who joined Steering Group members at The Community Neighbourhood Plan Day on Saturday 4 March! You helped build local knowledge and aspirations into how our plan should tackle its seven priority themes.

We will be building your information and suggestions into our plan.

If you missed the event but want to contribute, it’s not too late! We will publish an updated draft vision and objectives and key topic evidence on this website around the 20th March. Further comments can be sent by 10th April using the email below or by post to the Parish Office (see contact details) or simply drop them into the Parish Council office!

Why this work is important for Box

The neighbourhood Plan, once formally adopted, will be part of the framework which controls planning and development within Box parish. It will be important because it will enable the Parish Council to set out a positive vision for Box Parish and help it shape decisions on new homes, amenities, and business accommodation, as well as conserving and enhancing our built and natural environment.

Your views on how you want our community to develop in the future will be crucial to its success.

Forthcoming work

This will focus on these topic areas; we will continue to engage with the communities of Box Parish to help us gather the evidence and information we need. These form the basis of the Box Parish Neighbourhood Plan; and we will provide an opportunity for people to comment on this work as it progresses. Updates will be provided via the parish magazine, parish notice boards, on our Face Book page and on the Parish Council Website, under the Neighbourhood Plan tab.

If you wish to help the steering group with any of the information gathering, we will welcome your support; please contact us on: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
